This magnificent ‘Versailles’ damask wallpaper design is steeped in history. Sourced from the Zoffany archives, it features a rising sunflower and ornate acanthus leaves. The original paper dates to the mid 18th century between 1735-1750 and is coloured with dark green damask on a darker green background. The design can be traced to a brilliant red silk which was specially woven for the Sun King Louis XIV of France and was used within the Palace of Versailles, hence its name.
