With defined contours of the flower’s petals, Magnolia is a wallpaper that interprets 19th century Japanese tinted woodcuts. This same art form inspired artists such as Monet and Manet in the cafe’s of Montmartre during this time period. The geometrical backdrop is also Japanese, found in patterns on Yukata’s classic everyday costumes. Just like the stems of the plants, drawn according to eastern tradition with its stylised form. The magnolia pattern made it to Sweden thanks to Mirjam Korn who originally designed this wallpaper for the Linne´ collection in 2007.
